New! Parliament Rolls of Medieval England, 1275 - 1504

Researchers investigating the proceedings of early English governments, who don't have a time-machine and inside government connections in 14th century London, should be very thankful for the Libraries' new online resource.

Parliament Rolls of Medieval England, 1275 - 1504 provides a full transcription of the original Latin, Anglo-Norman, or Middle English texts and a modern English translation for all surviving official records of the sessions of the medieval English parliament, with selected page images for each reign representing different languages, scripts, and styles. For each parliamentary session there are new introductions, annotations, and appendices with supplementary material composed by seven present day scholars. All transcribed, translated, and newly written text can be searched for words and phrases.

Users can access Parliament Rolls of Medieval England, 1275 - 1504 from the front page of the Libraries website, by following the path: Research Resources > Indexes and Databases > Arts and Humanities > History > Parliament Rolls of Medieval England, 1275 - 1504.
