- Description
- The National Technical Information Service (NTIS) database from the U.S. Department of
Commerce is the premier source for accessing unclassified reports from influential U.S. and
international government agencies. The database contains access to over two million critical
citations from government departments such as NASA, the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S.
Department of Defense. More information is available from
http://www.ntis.gov/products/ntisdb.aspx.
The Database represents
billions of dollars in research. Contents include research reports, computer products,
software, video cassettes, audio cassettes and more. The complete electronic file dates back to
1964. On average, NTIS has added over 60,000 new records per year to the Database over the past
ten years. Most records include abstracts.
The database also includes audiovisual training
materials in such areas as foreign languages, workplace safety and health, law enforcement, and
fire services.
